With our double kayaks at the ready, you’ll embark with your group guided by our experienced leader. As you navigate through the picturesque harbor, you’ll pass a charming array of commercial fishing vessels, sailboats, live-aboard boats, and the occasional private yacht. Your seasoned guide will carefully evaluate the day’s tides and weather conditions to select the ideal route, leading you on an enthralling journey down the coast past oceanfront homes to unspoiled islands. The Trip Itinerary

5 Hour Trip

Pick up and transport to the Alaska Boat & Kayak Rental Shop for Gear fitting and Orientation

2 hours

Get on the water!

Launch double kayaks directly from our shop for 1.5-2 hour kayaking adventure. Keep your eyes open for harbor seals, sea lions, salmon, eagles, and other wildlife as you navigate out of the harbor into the open ocean. Route and destination will be determined by weather and marine conditions,

 

30 minutes

Return to Kayak Shop and de-gear.

After de-gearing from kayaking, we will head to the Mendenhall Glacier.

1 hour

Enjoy sweeping views the Mendenhall Glacier, surrounding mountain peaks, and Nugget Falls.

Enjoy a short walk through the Tongass National Forest.

30 minutes

Return transport back downtown.

Practical Info

Client Pickup Information

Located at the base of the Mt. Roberts Tramway, the “C”-Sign is ABAK’s primary downtown Juneau meeting location for cruise passengers and clients staying in the downtown area.

CLIENTS ARRIVING AT AJ DOCK:

Clients who dock at the AJ Dock within 30 minutes of the ABAK pick-up time will be picked up directly from AJ DOCK.

Clients Staying Locally:

Clients can be picked up from any major hotel in the Mendenhall Valley.

Clients staying at major hotels in the Downtown Juneau area will meet at our Downtown meeting location.

ABAK is unable to provide pick-up in residential neighborhoods. Clients staying at private residences, Air BnB’s, VRBO’s, or have own transportation please contact our office for meeting location information at 907-802-2210 or info@beyondak.com.

Minimum Age Private Departure: 7 years old – Children must be able to swim and confidently paddle a double kayak with an adult.
